Sutter's Landing supports an incredible diversity of wildlife species
We have been collecting information on species found around the Sutter's Landing area for over 7 years. At least 102 species of wildlife, not counting all the amazing invertebrates (including insects) have been documented there. This includes 86 species of birds, 15 mammals, 8 reptiles, and 3 amphibian species. We have also started a new insect list and will add to it over time. See the entire list of wildlife species and help us add to it. Please send your sightings to FORB. Include date, time of day, weather info, information about how many of each species you saw, location, and what the animals were doing. Also, Sutter's Landing Park is included in the annual American River Parkway Wildlife Count sponsored each December by the American River Natural History Association. The data collected is submitted into eBird for sharing and analysis that helps with wildlife conservation. Plan to join us next year!
