Another great event was hosted by FORB along a number of other organizations. —there were captive live birds from the Raptor Center and information tables from Save the American River Assn (SARA), Audubon, and Friends of the River Banks. Some of our sharp-eyed FORBers had recently seen Swanson's hawks scouting and checking the area and one another out. We had some great SWHA sitings during the event too which is an annual favorite at Sutter's Landing Park. There were also lots of other raptors and birds around, as well as mammals and reptiles. Come out and join us next year to say hello to all the wildlife at Sutter's Landing.

Robert's notes:
"The group saw a Swainsons Hawk couple mating and bringing in nesting materials to their nest just down river from a Great Horned owl family! We'll have to see how this plays out over the nesting season. Six or seven Swainsons were seen this morning!
Eight Beavers were out sunning.
My buddy Max spotted an Otter!
A couple and their daughter saw what they think was a Common Kingsnake.
A dog walker we know, said his dog sniffed out a good size Western Rattlesnake! He said it had three rattles.
I spotted a Coopers Hawk, Green Heron, Least Sandpiper, Western Kingbird, Northern Flicker and Belted Kingfishers flying into their bank burrow.
All this as transforming clouds sailed above."
