A wildlife survey was made on 12/5/15 as part of the 2015 and 31st ARNHA annual Wildlife Count throughout the American River Parkway. "Team Otter" once again covered the count section at Sutter's Landing Park and had another a fine day in the field in spite of not having any otter sightings this year. Very few, if any off-leash dogs or other illegal activities were encountered. A large group of joggers did pass through the count area during the early morning with minimal disturbance. The two turtles seen were identified as Western Pond turtles. Kudos to Bill Avery at CSUS for coordinating and compiling the overall count again this year and thanks to our count members (Robert, Jane, Kevin, Asli, and Dale) for contributing. All count data was entered into eBird and will be used to better understand wildlife distribution and trends in the Parkway.

Please plan on joining the fun this time next year!
