FORB continues to be very busy around Sutter's Landing activities. Besides the well attended monthly Second Saturday morning events, FORB and other groups including the Friends of Sutter's Landing have developed a long term vision for the greater park area which has been very well received. These groups are now working with the City of Sacramento to develop a River Parkway grant that would include important improvements and habitat restoration. At the same time, we are working with other groups and individuals to evaluate the city's proposal to place a solar project on the landfill. If approved, this project would greatly reduce the available foraging habitat for sensitive species such as the Swainson's hawk. We have documented this threatened species to successfully nest in the area in part due to the availability of food on the mound. There are lots of opportunities to get involved in these activities which are very important and will shape the future of this unique location. Please explore our updated website for more information. --Dale

The greater park area must be protected at any cost. I can totally understand your concern. But don’t worry my friend ,our time will come some day. That day we will realize how important it is to protect areas like Sutter’s Landing.
